NOSi hereby publicly and firmly condemns the reckless and defamatory statements made by Alex Évora in a live video broadcast on the Facebook page “Voz Di Povo”, in which he claims that “MPD USES NOSi TO MANIPULATE DATA”, with the aim of misleading public opinion and creating chaos within the robust and credible national electoral system, thereby tarnishing the good name of NOSi, its reputation, and its nationally and internationally recognized technical independence.

The statements made in the video, in addition to being irresponsible and defamatory, demonstrate a complete lack of understanding of the country’s electoral process and of the outstanding work of NOSi professionals, who have contributed to making Cabo Verde internationally recognized and respected as a country capable of effectively managing electoral processes—delivering results almost in real time and announcing outcomes on the same day, with security, confidence, and transparency.

Therefore, in view of the seriousness of these public insinuations, NOSi announces that it is initiating the necessary legal proceedings and will file a criminal complaint with the judicial authorities against Alex Évora for statements that are entirely slanderous and without any factual basis, which have a negative impact on the reputation of NOSi and on the honour of its employees.
