SIMPle project integrates local governance into the country's digital transition strategy - PCA NOSi

In his speech at the opening of the workshop presenting the work carried out under the SIMPle project, which took place on Tuesday, 11 November, in the city of Praia, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NOSi, Carlos Tavares Pina, considers SIMPle to be an important milestone in the modernisation and digitisation of Cape Verdean public administration, due to its ability to integrate local governance into the country's digital transition strategy. He therefore called for the 22 municipalities in the country to be fully involved in this process.
‘SIMple will allow municipalities to develop their own digital strategies, giving them the autonomy to create micro-services and solutions adapted to local realities, which could stimulate technology-based entrepreneurship and generate new opportunities for young people,’ he emphasised.
The opening of the event, which brought together technicians, directors, municipal secretaries, councillors from all municipalities in the country, the NOSi team, and other public and private partners, was presided over by the Minister of State, National Defence, Minister of Territorial Cohesion and Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and Parliamentary Affairs, Janine Lélis, and featured speeches by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NOSi, Carlos Tavares Pina, and the Resident Representative of the World Bank in Cape Verde, Indira Campos. Also in attendance were the Mayors of São Miguel, Herménio Fernandes, and São Filipe, Fogo, Núias Silva.
The workshop aimed to present the state of development of the different modules of the SIMple Project and gather contributions from the beneficiary municipalities for its improvement.
