Today, NOSi took another decisive step towards energy autonomy, sustainability, and the efficiency of its technological infrastructures with the official launch of the Praia Data Center’s Photovoltaic Energy System. This strategic project aims to strengthen the operational resilience of this infrastructure, which plays a central role in the provision of digital services to the State, businesses, and Cape Verdean society.

The official launch ceremony took place on Monday, February 16. It was presided over by the Secretary of State for the Digital Economy, Pedro Lopes, and featured opening remarks by Executive Administrator Lumumba Barbosa, representing NOSi’s Board of Directors, in the presence of representatives from national public and private entities, as well as international organizations. The project was presented by Data Center Director Luís Correia, in partnership with the national company Lobosolar, the contractor awarded the project and responsible for its execution.

This investment is part of the implementation of the Environment, Social & Governance (ESG) Strategy and approach adopted by NOSi in 2024. It reflects a commitment undertaken by NOSi not only to strengthen its competitiveness, but also to reinforce its position as a modern, sustainable, responsible, and forward-looking public enterprise.
