Cabo Verde Covid-19 certificates validated and accepted by the European Union

The Operational Nucleus for the Information Society, NOSi. E.P.E, responsible technologically and operationally for the implementation of the "Nha Card - Digital Certificate of Cape Verde (https://nhacard.gov. cv) in strict partnership and articulation with government departments involved, was delighted and proud to announce the European Commission's statement of equivalence of the COVID-19 vaccination, testing and recovery certificates issued by the Republic of Cape Verde with the European Union, published in the Official Journal of the EU on December 10.

Besides facilitating the exercise of the right of free movement within the European Union, this equivalence recognizes the country's organizational and technological capacity to design and implement solid technological solutions complying to international best practices.

This equivalence and technological interoperability process began on September 21, 2021, providing procedural information about the issuance of vaccination certificates, testing and recovery of COVID-19 under the system called "Nha Card". After rigorous technical testing, the European Union Commission for the Implementation and Equivalence of COVID-19 Certificates recognized the Nha Card's compliance, as a secure and interoperable platform, in accordance with the regime of trust established by the European Union Regulation, allowing the verification of its authenticity, validity and integrity.

"Nha Card" - Cabo Verde's COVID certificate, was officially launched on August 2, 2021, a ceremony presided by the Prime Minister, Ulisses Correia e Silva, in Praia. The project has been a platform that ensures the dematerialization and availability in a safe and efficient way of vaccination, testing and recovery certificates of covid-19 in Cabo Verde.

NOSi, E.P.E, is committed to contributing toward the development and well-being of citizens and, currently, supporting the country in its social and economic reopening process.
