Identification

One of the main goals of Cape Verdean State has been to endow the country with a competent, secure and solid identification system. It is based on that, the SNIAC project – National System of Civil Authentication and Identification - is in progress. Along years, NOSI is making progress.

The identification system was unified. The Civil Registration process was computerized in all national territory. NOSI managed to recover and computerized all birth, death and acknowledgement of child, and marriage certificates. NOSI also managed to collect all biometric information, like finger print and ICAO photo compliant, through general population census. 

The greater capacity of identification and authentication we have acquired with this system, have caused a positive impact on the electoral process, by confirming the greatest transparency and our administration is about to become more and more competent.

Nowadays, the citizen may demand his certificate with greatest comfort and security no matter where, on www.portondinosilhas.cv. The online certificates reduced the waiting time in queues, and also the territorial barriers which delayed certificates’ acquisition, both internally and externally. All this has strongly contributed to a greater security, credibility, transparency, and speed.
