The State of Cape Verde has given special attention to the challenges of integrating diverse services, for available access to different places of the country. The aim is to have an advanced public administration in terms of technology, connected to broadband Internet and with integrated and secure systems able to respond to challenges of changing process.

Along the years, the barriers have been abolished and Cape Verdean people are closer and closer to their public administration. The State organization was reinvented; by giving them tools to better manage the public and the relation among State services were simplified.

All this was possible because of the fast, secure and strong information, formed by a Data Centre and a communication network that ensure the inter-connexion of all 9 islands and State Institutions, from sovereignty body, sample State services, to the services with administrative and financial autonomy, mainly the institutes and local municipalities. Nowadays, we have a little more than 5000 access terminal that make viable the voice services by internet (VOIP), e-mail, and investments.

The strong commitment of sectors in facilitating the administrative barriers to promote the integration between the aforementioned sectors, the training and national competence certification, the strong investment in equipments and political sponsorship must be hereby stressed.

The integration of technology in public administration was not a simple putting in place and programming computers, but as a way to reach integrated services. A compact that joints, hardware, software training concerning the solution’s use and available services, the redefinition of processes, and finally, the integration between the citizen and administration.
