Free Access point to knowledge
Internet is increasingly democratized in Cape Verde. From the various islands and localities in the country, it is possible to access Internet in a free way by wireless system. It is the "Konekta" – Free access point to knowledge.
It is in the framework of the Strategic Programme to the Information Society (PESI), aiming at assuring accessibility to every one, encouraging digital cohesion and stimulating universal presence, by the development of national communication infra-structures and connectivity in broadband Internet.
In partnership with CVNET enterprise, NOSi managed to implement the KONEKTA in 15 countries’ places, spread over 5 islands. The objective goes further… it is create facilities in order that in the short term, all Cape Verde people, in any place of national territory, have acess to Internet, knowledge and information.
